Franklin is a city in Tennessee, USA. Williamson County, of which Franklin is the county seat, is located around 21 miles south of Nashville. The population of Franklin was 74,148 as of the 2020 census.

Franklin is the seventh-largest city in Tennessee and serves as the county seat of Williamson, which is one of the wealthiest counties in the United States. One of the major factors contributing to Franklin's affluence is the high-end boutique shopping and dining options available on its historic Main Street, which dates back to the 19th century.

Franklin is known for its well-preserved 19th-century architecture, which has made it a popular filming site for several Hollywood productions, including the 1989 film Steel Magnolias.

Franklin celebrates several festivals throughout the year. Some of the most notable ones include The Main Street Festival in April, the Franklin Rodeo, Wine Down Main Street in July, the Franklin Jazz Festival in September, and Pumpkinfest in October.

Franklin is famous for its music, birthplace of several musicians, including country music legend Dolly Parton, country music singer Ben Rue, Christian singer Michael W. Smith, Christian-pop duo Jars of Clay, and a family of musically talented siblings including pop artist Ke$ha and rapper E-40.

Franklin is well known for its famous barbecue and Southern cuisine. Franklin has been criticized for lacking diversity in its menu selections, though in recent years, new businesses in the city's underrepresented communities have expanded menu options. The Factory at Franklin is a restaurant complex located in Franklin in a former cotton mill that is home to some of Franklin's newest restaurants.
