Perryton is a city in Ochiltree County, Texas, United States. As of the 2020 census, the city population was 8,871. It is the county seat of Ochiltree County.

Perryton was founded in 1892 and was named after E.H. Perry, a local rancher. It was not until the following year that the town began to take shape, and it grew rapidly. Within two years, it had a population of 200 and had also acquired a post office, two general stores, and several smaller businesses.

Perryton's economy is largely supported by agriculture, with wheat, cotton and cattle being the cornerstone of the industry. Local attractions include the Ochiltree County Historical Museum, the historical downtown plaza, and the Perryton park, which includes a large children's playground, baseball and softball fields, and a half mile walking track.
